Pinus '' Overview
Short needled, native pine.
- Height: 15-40 ft
- Yellow-green needles
- Short needles 1-3" with 2 per fascicle
- Cones are 1.5"-2.5" long
- Orange-brown scaly bark with patches
- Growth habit is open pyramid then losing it's central leader and becoming a flat-topped tree
- Can tolerate poor soils and clay
