Employment at Colesville Nursery

We are hiring for Fall 2022 for our Colesville Nursery Team! We love people that are willing to learn new skills and knowledge. If you have a background in horticulture, that is wonderful, but it's not required. We are looking for A LOT more than that! Perennial Salesperson

This position consists of maintaining the health of the plants in the perennial department. This includes plant maintenance of perennials which is mostly pruning and weeding. Candidates should be detail oriented, self-motivated, hardworking, able to work independently, and able to work outside year-round. Candidates should be able to help customers and be able to perform the physical work of pulling orders for delivery or pick-up and loading or unloading trucks with multiple plants being carried at one time. Perennial Plant knowledge is a plus but not required. Candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds. This position is full-time and some Saturdays in the Fall and Spring. 

 

Garden Center Salesperson:  

This position consists of a dynamic work environment that includes customer service, retail sales floor merchandising, and plant care and maintenance. Other duties include answering phone calls, voicemail messages, greeting customers, running the point-of-sale software, filling plant orders, and watering the Garden Center at least once per day (at times two times daily). This position requires patience and a person that can think on their feet to answer any question a customer that walks in the door might have (or to find someone that knows the answer). This position requires a person that can be an energetic team player when needed and someone that is able to multitask while demonstrating effective communication between the customer and Colesville Nursery staff. Experience in plant maintenance, retail plant displays, and maintaining plant inventory is helpful but not required. A willingness to learn these skills is necessaryCandidates should be able to lift 50 pounds. This position is full-time and some Saturdays in the Fall and Spring. 

 

Tree Loader/Salesperson:  

This position consists of loading and stocking tree material within the tree and shrub department, helping wholesale and retail customers with plant loading and tree/large shrub questions including plant information, and pest and disease issues. There will be tree and irrigation maintenance as well as the loading and unloading of tree truck material. Candidates should be  able to work in all types of weather conditions. Previous plant experience is preferred or willingness to learn is required. The ability to be a team player and ability to work alone at times is also requiredCandidates should be able to lift 50-100 pounds. This position is full-time and some Saturdays in the Fall and Spring.  

Salary for all positions is negotiable and based on all work experience. We have an excellent benefit package and paid time off schedule.
